What do you do when, despite your best effort, the person or organization you are attempting to collaborate with just isn’t performing?

You may have experienced the following behaviors:Senior Man Driving Vintage Car Smiling and Waving

  • No communication
  • They say they will do something but don’t
  • They do something but it’s all screwed up
  • All talk no action
  • They offer various excuses to justify mistakes or inaction

Let’s say all of this inaction has a direct effect on you and your performance. So what do you do?

Well you can get mad and tell them what you think. Lash out and tell the person or the group just what pathetic losers they are; maybe not a good idea. My friend Rich says this:

“Never get mad at anyone for being who they are.” – Dr. Rich Friedman, Psychologist

So if it’s not a good idea to get mad, what should you do? In his book, The 360° Leader, Dr. John Maxwell says this:

“Your job isn’t to fix the leader; it’s to add value. If the leader won’t change, then change your attitude or your work address”

So stop wasting your time on trying to correct the mistakes of others, just smile and politely wave as you drive by.
Have a Great Blahless Day!
